our story
Michael Gomez began to study the art of barbering in 2002. He earned his professional barber license in 2003, after which he spent nearly a decade advancing his techniques and mastering his craft. Along the way, he was struck by a vision to open a barber shop based on excellence. His core values were success, support, encouragement, dependability, respect, accountability, integrity, openness to learn, and authentic communication.
As he built Legends Barber Shop from the ground up, he began to implement these core values. In the beginning, Michael was the only barber in the shop. However, Legends grew quickly and hired a staff of 7 talented individuals within a few years. Each team member brought unique values, worldviews, and styles which ultimately created the professional yet eclectic culture of Legends.
An opportunity for expansion arose in 2019, and Michael was incredibly grateful to complete having eight professional state of the art barber workstations to the shop. During the expansion process, we also rebranded, and our name and logo changed from “Legends Barber Shop” to “Legends Grooming Lounge.” Guests may rest assured that while our name and logo changed, our culture stayed the same, and we remain committed to providing cutting edge services and high-quality patron experiences.

Here at Legends, we are united by our love for the art of grooming. While some may see grooming as a mere necessity, we view our work as a creative discipline. To be a good barber requires precision, technical mastery, and an eye for aesthetics. Moreover, a good barber engages to build relationships that go beyond the haircut. With roots in older forms such as street art and tattooing, the art of barbering has been passed down from legend to legend over countless years of experience and training. We are proud to continue that tradition today.

Michael Gomez is a master barber and the proud owner of Legends Grooming Lounge. After earning his barber license in 2003, Michael honed his technical skills and advanced through the industry. He began to view grooming as an art form, and he worked diligently for two decades to master his craft. In 2013, Michael established Legends Grooming Lounge with the hopes of creating a positive environment for his guests, his team members, and his community. In addition to his impressive expertise in men’s haircuts and styles, Michael prides himself on being a great listener, and he loves to build relationships with his guests. Rest assured, when you’re in Michael’s chair, you will be taken care of!

Antonio is a proud Colorado native, and he loves his great community. He is a reliable, motivated individual who takes great pride in growing through life as well as his barbering career. He began his professional career in cosmetology and barbering in 2021. Antonio is a well-rounded barber with the technical skills and abilities to produce unique and custom styles and looks. He specializes in men’s, teens’, and children’s cuts, facial hair trimming, shaving, bears, gray coverage, styling, scalp treatments, and eyebrow shaping for all hair types and textures. Come into Legends and allow Antonio to get you looking great for any occasion!

shantellE
Master Stylist/ Barber Skilled
Shantelle’s passion for hair started at a young age, when she would cut and style her Barbie dolls’ hair regularly. She earned her professional cosmetology license in 2001 and entered the industry as a platform artist in hair. Throughout her career, she continued to learn new techniques and eventually began to train other cosmetologists. Shantell specializes in cuts and styles for men, women, and children. However, her extensive experience in the industry has allowed her to develop a well-rounded skillset, and she can confidently do fades, flat tops, taper fades, line-ups, and more. Every client will receive excellent services in Shantell’s chair!
